What did you use to polish it mate?

How come when you take that thing off there is no gasket?

theres a little rubber gasket aint there? i had a spare chamber anyway that i was gonna mod with dump valve (just gotta do that as well)

i used a variety of sanding tools, but now i realise the best procedure after messing about with it.

1. wire brush to clean off paint (much easier than sandpaper, drill bit etc can get in the corners with it), must be stainless or brass cause if you use a metal one and the metal inbeds in the aluminum it will rust, so im told.

2. 120grit flap wheel in a drill, these are like small sheets of sandpaper but in a wheel shape, much faster. This removes rough nobbley surface, but dont use too much pressure cause you will eat loads of metal.

3. Use fine sand paper 400grit+ to clean in the corners and other places you carnt get at with the flap wheel, real pain in the arse.

3. A fine woven aluminium oxide flap wheel, this gets a nice finish to the metal prior to polishing. Use wet&dry in arwkard places.

4. Polish with bench grinder fitted with 6inch cloth mop wheel, apply aluminum polishing compound to mop and away ya go.

5. If ya want it perfect (which i didnt really do) you need a small felt mop bit that fits in ya drill and ya can put the compound on.

Sounds worse than it is, just needs lots of elbow grease.

If you need pics of any of the bits ive used i will post pics, cause i dont know what some of them are called.

Oh yeah i used to work for an abrasives company hence the array of sanding bits
