I may have a tatty, high mileage ph2 heading my way shortly and if I get it I thought I'd give it a severe lightening job and run it down the strip 'til it breaks. How much weight do we reckon we could lose - I'm happy to cut panels apart and remove anything not involved in just making the car go.

Visited Renault Turbo Spares in Gt Harwood recently and they were using a stripped PH1 for track days, doing really well with it too. Think they just took out all the usual things really, apart from the drivers seat(changed to velour) most of the dashboard etc.
In his own words "theres nowt much that'll keep up wiv this!!" :D

With everything out of the car , on the standard engine with a single box exhaust . Just one seat. ( 1025 kg ) and still road legal. With a standard engine you could run somewhere between 13.5 to 14.5 1/4 mile , depends on how much boost your going to run and how well you start. Keep an eye on Dave's RS21 times, its a lighter car on the same engine. 8) Andie.

Under 1000Kg easy peasy.
Take some tips from the fuego mate and you'll be mid to low 900's.
