EuropaCup R21-25 12.88 rebuild

Hi folks,

I'm starting a new project based on a shell of an europacup. The idea is to build a car for trackdays, as close as possible from the original car. I found your forum looking for EuropaCup pictures and any possible information. Nice to see english people enjoying the old R21 ! :good:

It's now located in the North of France.

Unfortunately, I lack most of the original parts so it won't be a full europacup. Anyway, if you have some original parts to sell, please let me know. I'm also looking for pictures, documents and so on.

I'll keep you informed of the project as it goes... though I'm sure that it'd be slow...:dunno:

so thats where that shell went to, was watching it on ebay, but it was just the bare shell and some exhaust if i remember. yes jo is best to speak to but is on holiday at the moment, im sure he will contact you when he gets back.

yep on Ebay France... some months ago.

bid ended and I called the seller, it took me a long time to setup the transportation to my home but now the logistic is done and the work will start...

Ah the front subframe. Not certain what those bits welded on the bottom are, I imagine they are some sort of jackinig point.

I uploaded a the europacup parts manual onto here. A surprising amount of stuff is shared between the production cars and the europacup cars but your right the vast majority is specific only to the europacups.

The subframe bushes are exactly the same as those use don the standard cars. I think your problem will come with the wishbones and anti roll bar. You won't be able to mount standard parts to that subframe. So if your lucky you may find some europacup original parts. If not custom made, or the easier and cheaper option would be to bolt up a standard subframe with wishbones etc etc

in 1990 no 38 was driven by Gerard Fverot (French)

i know that Gerard Fevrot used a modified europacup in Superproduction in 1991-1992, so would possibly presume this is Michel Parasi's car

I'll found this a bizar story. I had contact with the seller and he told me it wasnt an original cup shell but a regular with a custom rollcage in it. Also, the car was demaged on the right side (UK drivers side). Sill and bottom where gone.

The guy was selling a clio ralley shell at the same moment.

Full story I had :

The guy at DMC (the company that sold it to me with an invoice) was not aware of a europacup variant, at least he told me so. DMC is now an off-road rally-raid company and the shell was there before he joined. They need space in their cellar so they sold 2 shells on ebay in the past months, one clio (you can see some part of it below) and this R21.

But as I understood, one guy came to see it from Paris and said it was one, but I had already sent a check to book it, so the guy did not buy it. Finally, just before I came to bring it home, one guy from Renault he works with told him so also. So he finally believed it is a europacup.

About the passenger (continental driving position) damage. I'll post pictures. It's located where the crick took place (the square hole we can see both sides on a europacup). I suppose this damaged was done while switching or something like that.

well ide say its definately a genuine europacup shell,, as it has the matter fabrication plate, this example r21 25 10-88, which i have seen in most europacups( r21 ** 10-88 or r21 ** 11-88) (the ones without, i have been told were possibly replacement shells for cars destoyed during racing/practicing)

Hi everyone, I wanted to make an update to this thread as the project is finally moving on. I have found a buddy that has both skills and knowledge to help in this rebuild. Consider this as a restart as some hypothesis I had taken back then are no longer true.

Basic idea is to rebuild as much as possible of the original car, but, as you may know, I lack decisive parts likes front and rear axles, so it is not going to be a 'real' Europa Cup. It's sad but it is better it goes on a track again than rusting in my yard. To make this happen I finally decided to rip off all the bits from my perfectly driving R21 trackday car and to put them back in this Europa Cup shell. Here it goes :

good to see your project moving along,,,have you tried speaking to jo in belgium about tracking down europa cup parts,, he usualy knows where various bits are..

looks like one of the europa cups at brunn racing has recently been sold to someone in france too

Thats strange...Giro (the swiss dude) got several front hubs, including unibals and pins and also the rear solid axle.

Ok so I was wrong. I was thinking of someone else, not that swiss guy ;).

i can get my hands on another pair front hubs, including the central wheellock nut but its gonna be expansive one (4 numbers).

Depending on the first digit, it may be worth to go further. Is there also a possibility to get the corresponding damper leg and the rear hubs ?
